Chapter 20 – Decisive Battle

Now, Chu Liuxiang has finally had the whole situation completely under his control! He has flipped the situation that now the guest become the host! Translated by foxs

But who actually was Bianfu Gongzi?

Where was his person?

Now that the secret was about to be exposed, everyone became even more nervous instead.

Only one person’s expression was still very calm, his bearing was still very serene.

This person was of course Yuan Suiyun.

Chu Liuxiang’s gaze was suddenly fixed on his face, he said, “I wonder if Yuan Gongzi also wants me to say Bianfu Gongzi‘s name.”

Yuan Suiyun was still smiling, he said, “Xiang Shuai, please say it, Zaixia is listening with respectful attention.”

Chu Liuxiang heaved a sigh, he said, “Since that’s the case, it would be better for Zaixia to do as requested.”

Hu Tiehua could not help saying, “Quickly say it, could it be that you really want to make people die of anxiety?”

Chu Liuxiang said, “In this place, there is no sun and no lights all year round, it is always in darkness, just because the Bianfu Gongzi practically does not need light.”

He continued word by word, “Because he is simply a blind person who can’t see the light!” foxswuxia.wordpress.com

As soon as he said that, everybody’s eyes suddenly stared at Yuan Suiyun’s face.

Yet Yuan Suiyun remained calm and collected, he laughed indifferently and said, “Zaixia is precisely a blind person.”

Chu Liuxiang said, “And Gexia is also precisely Bianfu Gongzi!”

Surprisingly, Yuan Suiyun’s countenance did not change, he said, “Oh? Am I?”

Chu Liuxiang said, “Although Gexia shocked Ying Laosheng’s [venerable elderly man] ears to deaf, you were still half a step too late. In the end he still spoke out one word. Sometimes one word is enough to reveal many secrets.”

Ying Wanli’s last scream, there was only one word.

“Yuan …”

The sound from his throat stopped suddenly, because at that time he could no longer hear his own voice. In his opinion, it was more terrifying than killing him.

It’s just that before his ears finally became deaf, he had already recognized that the voice coming from the brass pipe was Yuan Suiyun’s –– naturally Chu Liuxiang was also already suspicious of Yuan Suiyun early on. Translated by foxs

Yuan Suiyun was silent for a long time, finally he heaved a long sigh, saying, “After all, I still underestimated you.”

Bianfu Gongzi was unexpectedly Yuan Suiyun!

Hu Tiehua simply could not believe; no one could believe.

This noble, gentle and polite son of family influential for generations unexpectedly did such a cruel, such a dreadful thing.

Fixing his gaze at him, Chu Liuxiang spoke slowly, “I don’t have any solid evidence to prove that you are Bianfu Gongzi, you could have denied it [orig. deflect blame from oneself with a dishonest story].”

Yuan Suiyun laughed indifferently and said, “I don’t have to.”

Although he laughed indifferently, it carried some kind of threatening air of arrogance.

Chu Liuxiang also heaved a long, long sigh, he said, “After all, I did not underestimate you.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “I made a mistake, but you made a mistake as well.”

“I did?” Chu Liuxiang said.

Yuan Suiyun said slowly, “Originally I only wanted your pair of eyes, but now I must take your life!” foxswuxia.wordpress.com

Chu Liuxiang was silent for a long time, then he slowly said, “You have a chance, but the chance is not great.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “At least it is bigger than what you see, right?”

“Right,” Chu Liuxiang replied.

‘Right.’ Although this word anybody could say it, but saying it at this time, at this moment, it required not only superhuman wisdom, but also extraordinary courage.

Yuan Suiyun was also silent for a long time, he suddenly said, “There are many people who know other people very well, but toward self, they don’t know anything at all.”

Chu Liuxiang said, “Knowing others is easier than knowing oneself.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “Only you. Not only you can understand others, you also understand yourself. Only this point, it is already beyond anybody’s reach. You and I becoming enemies, I am really forced beyond myself.”

Chu Liuxiang said, “I have also said earlier that the most terrifying enemy on earth is you.” Translated by foxs

Yuan Suiyun said, “You know that you don’t have any confidence to defeat me?”

Chu Liuxiang said, “Yes.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “Since that is the case, why do you still want to fight me?”

Chu Liuxiang said, “Circumstances require action, there is no other choice!”

Yuan Suiyun said, “All right!”

He suddenly rose up to his full height, smiled and said, “I heard that you can often use the few to change the many, use the weak to defeat the strong. I really want to know what method you use?”

Chu Liuxiang spoke indifferently, “I don’t have any specific method, only ‘confidence’, these two characters [xin xin (two different characters)], nothing more!”

Chu Liuxiang said, “I firmly believe that evil [orig. xie, demonic, nefarious, also translated as ‘heretic’, like in ‘East Heretic’ in Jin Yong’s Condor Trilogy] will never overcome righteousness [orig. zheng, straight, upright; in wuxia, sometimes it is translated as ‘orthodox’, as opposed to ‘demonic school’ (mo men)]; power will never overcome justice, darkness will not last long. In the world of the living, there must be light!”

Yuan Suiyun’s expression finally changed, he laughed coldly and said, “Can you live by eating confidence?” foxswuxia.wordpress.com

Chu Liuxiang said, “I can’t, but if a person has no heart, how is it different from a walking corpse [idiom: person who lives only on the material level]?”

Yuan Suiyun laughed again and said, “All right! I hope your confidence can knock me down.”

His robe sleeves spread out, suddenly his whole body floated into the air, just like a bat gliding silently, his posture was really indescribably elegant.

His sweep was not fast, but he suddenly landed in front of Chu Liuxiang.

No one has ever seen Yuan Suiyun’s martial arts, some people did not even know that he knew martial arts, right to this moment when he revealed this qinggong, everybody could not help feeling excited and was emotionally moved.

Yuan Suiyun’s long sleeves hung down, he smiled and said, “After you.”

Chu Liuxiang also smiled and said, “After you!”

The two men raised their cupped fist toward each other, each took three steps back, the smiles on their faces still have not disappeared.

Right up to the present, the two men have not spoken one single word with stern expression. Translated by foxs

In this kind of a moment of life-and-death decisive battle, if it were someone else, even if he was not trembling with nervousness, it would be hard to avoid his face turning ashen.

Yet they were still this polite, this courteous.

It was like their nerves were cast from iron, they would absolutely not be nervous about anything.

But behind this kind of gentle smile, what might be hidden?

Everyone was looking at their hands.

Because no matter who, anybody could imagine that as soon as they made their move, it must be a breaking-the-rock and startling-the-heaven, alarming-the-heaven and moving-the-earth style!

Everybody was waiting for their hands.

Right this moment, suddenly they heard someone shouted, “Hold on! This battle is mine!”

A shadow flashed, Hu Tiehua already blocked in front of Chu Liuxiang. Chu Liuxiang frowned and said, “I already said …”

Hu Tiehua spoke loudly, “I don’t care what you said, you have to give this battle to me!”

“Why?” Chu Liuxiang asked. foxswuxia.wordpress.com

Glaring at Yuan Suiyun, Hu Tiehua said, “As soon as I saw this man, I took him as a friend. When you guys suspected him, in a hundred and one ways I defended him, but … but he betrayed me.”

Yuan Suiyun heaved a sigh, he said, “Jianghu people’s heart is treacherous, you should not make friends casually.”

Hu Tiehua gritted his teeth and said, “Although I misjudged you, those who betray me will also regret it.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “The one who will regret it may be yourself.”

He heaved a sigh again, he said, “While you haven’t regretted it yet, why don’t you go back quickly? I don’t want to fight with you.”

Hu Tiehua said angrily, “Why?”

Yuan Suiyun spoke indifferently, “Because you are absolutely not my match. Chu Xiang Shuai may still have a thirty-percent chance, but you don’t even have a ten-percent chance.”

Hu Tiehua roared, “Fart …”

His fist and his voice came out almost simultaneously. Translated by foxs

Unexpectedly the wind from his fist suppressed the sound of his shout.

Everyone knew that Hu Tiehua was an impulsive and irritable person, even for a tiny, tiny thing like sesame seed or mung bean, he would often fly into a rage and lose his temper.

Only in one kind of moment that he was able to suppress his temper more than others.

It was precisely the moment he was fighting.

In all his life, no one knew how many times he had exchanged deadly blows against other people. Sometimes it was a life and death, stake-it-all duel against Wulin martial art master, but sometimes he would take off his clothes, naked to the waist, completely not using martial arts, fighting against street hooligans in the marketplace to his heart’s delight.

After several hundreds of fights, he learned this two-character ‘calm’ [or cool-headed, leng jing]!

To win, he had to stay calm.

No matter who, no one wanted to lose a fight, naturally Hu Tiehua could not be the exception.

Therefore, even if he was flushed with anger, when he was really going to fight, he would immediately calm down ——

Lessons learned from experience are always particularly difficult to forget.

Strangely, this time, he seemed to have completely forgotten the lesson. foxswuxia.wordpress.com

He was anything but calm.

Although this punch was very awe-inspiring, very powerful, anyone could see that although this kind of move would be very effective when used against local ruffians, but used against a top martial art master like Bianfu Gongzi, it was simply as unwise as using a small manicure knife to slaughter a cow.

How could such an experienced person like Hu Tiehua do such a stupid thing?

Sure enough, Yuan Suiyun easily dodged this move without wasting the slightest bit of effort.

Hu Tiehua turned around and stepped back, and then sent out a couple of punches again.

These two punched were more powerful, the wind generated by the punches was even louder.

The whooshing sound of the punches blowing the flames higher and longer, yet it failed to even touch the corner of Yuan Suiyun’s clothes. Translated by foxs

Zhang San already cursed him under his breath, ‘Idiot’ hundreds of times. This moment, he could not help cursing aloud, “Idiot, you, this kid, are really a damn big idiot.”

Yuan Suiyun suddenly chuckled, he said, “If there are people who think that he is an idiot, then that person is the idiot himself.”

His figure fluttered like floating cloud all around Hu Tiehua, but until this moment, he had not made a move toward Hu Tiehua.

Zhang San said, “Of course you wouldn’t say that he was an idiot, you are hoping that the more he is an idiot, the better.”

Yuan Suiyun spoke indifferently, “Do you want him to deal with me using style that would not make any noise?”

Before Zhang San could speak, Hu Tiehua already said angrily, “Although you are not a thing, the one surnamed Hu will not use that kind method to deal with a blind man no matter what, you just don’t need to worry.”

The tone of Yuan Suiyun’s voice was still very calm, completely no different from his usual speech; no one could have heard from the way he spoke that he was in a life-and-death duel against other people.

Hu Tiehua’s voice was already a bit strained.

Yuan Suiyun said, “I was never worried to begin with.”

He chuckled again, and then continued, “Anyone can use style without making any noise, but if that kind of method can knock me down, would I still be able to live until now?” foxswuxia.wordpress.com

He has not fought back yet.

Hu Tiehua was already sending out his seventeenth punch, but suddenly he pulled it back abruptly.

Yuan Suiyun’s figure also stopped immediately.

Hu Tiehua spoke loudly, “Now is the time to fight [lit. move your hands], not the time to move your mouth, don’t you understand?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “I understand.”

Hu Tiehua said, “Since you understand, why don’t you make your move?”

Yuan Suiyun spoke indifferently, “Maybe it’s just because I understand too well.”

Hu Tiehua said, “What is it that you understand?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “Your intention is to make me make my move, to let Chu Xiang Shuai see my martial arts style and technique first, and then find a way to deal with me; isn’t that right?” Translated by foxs

“Humph!” Hu Tiehua snorted.

Yuan Suiyun heaved a sigh, he said, “You are indeed worthy of being his good friend, only too bad that all your schemes are completely wasted.”

Hu Tiehua said, “Oh?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “I know a total of thirty-three kinds of martial arts, no matter which one I use, I can knock you down.”

Hu Tiehua laughed coldly and said, “Among your thirty-three types of martial art, presumably the most formidable one is ‘tooting your horn’.”

Not only he was not angry, Yuan Suiyun laughed and said, “If tooting my horn is added, it will be thirty-four.”

Hu Tiehua said, “The remaining thirty-three kinds, there is no harm in you telling me.”

Yuan Suiyun said, “The ‘Big Clap’ of the Fusang Jiahe Valley, Xue Yingren’s [sic. There was mention of Xue Yiren, but perhaps it was different] qinggong, Huashan Pai’s Qingfeng Shisan Shi, the Da Shou Yin of the Huangjiao Mizong [see Chapter 19], the long-lost Zhusha Zhang, the Tang School of Shu’s [Sichuan] Du Ye [Poisonous Leaf] secret projectiles … These several kinds of martial arts, presumably you all know.”

Hu Tiehua asked, “What else?” foxswuxia.wordpress.com

Yuan Suiyun said, “There are also Ba Shan [Mount Ba] Gu Daoren‘s [Taoist] ‘Seven by Seven, Forty-Nine Hands Hui Feng Wu Liu Jian [Returning Wind, Dancing Willow Sword], Shaolin‘s ‘Xiang Long Fu Hu Luohan’ [Subduing Dragon Vanquishing Tiger Arhat], Wudang’s ‘Liuyun Feixiu’ [Flowing Cloud Flying Sleeves], the Yan Family of Chenzhou’s Jiangshi Quan [Zombie Boxing], the Peng Family of the Central Plains’ ‘Wu Hu Duan Men Dao’ [Five-Tigers-Breaking-the-Door Saber], the northern sect’s orthodox school’s ‘Yuanyang Tui’ [Mandarin Duck Kicks] …”

Hu Tiehua said, “What else?”

Yuan Suiyun chuckled, he said, “Aren’t these ten kinds of martial arts enough?”

Hu Tiehua sneered and said, “Since you think it’s enough, why you don’t dare to make a move?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “Because you once regarded me as a friend, I should at least let you live a bit longer.”

Hu Tiehua said, “Oh? How long do you want me to live?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “At least until they are all dead.”

Hu Tiehua said, “They?”

Yuan Suiyun said, “When I said ‘they’, what I mean is everybody in this place.”

Hu Tiehua said, “You want to kill all these people here?”

Yuan Suiyun laughed again, he said, “They all know my secret, do you think I will let them live?”

    1. Agree kof, as a criminal syndicate boss him being able to blackmail, bribe, force, steal various secret techniques is believable, but for him to master them all makes him some kinda prodigy.

At least we guessed the villain correctly.
